Terms of Use
Last updated: 11 August 2026
These terms govern your use of Khawoji — the mobile app and website that connect customers with local restaurants and home-style tiffin kitchens. By creating an account, placing an order, or listing a kitchen on Khawoji, you agree to these terms.
1. What Khawoji is
Khawoji is a marketplace: we connect customers with independent restaurants and tiffin vendors. We are not the restaurant, and we don't prepare the food. Each vendor on Khawoji is responsible for their own menu, pricing, food quality, hygiene, and fulfillment of orders placed through the platform.
2. Accounts
You need an account to order food or run a kitchen on Khawoji. Customer and vendor accounts are separate and use different sign-in flows. You're responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account.
You must provide accurate information when registering — in particular, a working phone number and delivery address, since vendors and delivery depend on it. Vendor accounts additionally require a valid email for OTP verification during signup.
3. Ordering & tiffin subscriptions
Placing a regular order reserves items from a single vendor's menu at the price shown at checkout. Orders move through preparation stages set by the vendor — pending, confirmed, preparing, ready, and delivered — and you can track status in the app.
Tiffin plans are recurring meal subscriptions run by a vendor, covering one or more of breakfast, lunch, and dinner across a set duration. Vendors may rotate the menu daily or keep it fixed; check the plan details before subscribing. Some plans support “Pay Later”, which starts the subscription immediately with payment due afterward — that due amount remains your responsibility until settled.
4. Payments
Payments are processed through PhonePe. Khawoji does not collect or store your card, UPI, or bank credentials directly — those are handled by PhonePe's payment infrastructure. Vendors provide their own payout details (UPI ID or bank account) to receive settlements, subject to the platform commission disclosed in these terms and in the vendor dashboard.
5. Cancellations & refunds
You may cancel a regular order while it is still pending — once a vendor confirms and begins preparing it, cancellation is no longer available through the app, since the vendor has already committed ingredients and time. Vendors may also cancel an order before confirming it, for example if they're out of stock or closing early; you'll be notified and any payment already made will be refunded to your original payment method.
Tiffin subscriptions can be discussed directly with the vendor for pausing or cancellation, since delivery has typically already been scheduled for upcoming days. For payment disputes or refund issues either flow doesn't resolve, contact us at support@khawoji.com.
6. Ratings & reviews
Only customers with a delivered order for a given vendor can leave a rating and review for that vendor. Reviews should reflect a genuine experience with the order. We may remove reviews that are abusive, fraudulent, or unrelated to the actual order.
7. Vendor terms
Listing a kitchen on Khawoji is free; we take a commission on orders you actually receive, disclosed in your vendor dashboard. You're responsible for the accuracy of your menu (pricing, availability, veg/non-veg labeling), for food safety and hygiene at your kitchen, and for honoring orders you confirm within the platform's status flow.
Offers and coupon codes you create are your own commitment to customers — Khawoji does not subsidize vendor discounts unless separately agreed.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use another person's account or impersonate a vendor or customer you're not.
- Post false menu information, fake reviews, or manipulate ratings.
- Attempt to circumvent payment processing or platform commission.
- Use the platform for any unlawful purpose, or to harass another user or vendor.
- Probe, scan, or attempt to disrupt the service's infrastructure.
9. Liability
Khawoji provides the platform connecting customers and vendors, but food quality, preparation, and delivery timing are the vendor's responsibility. To the extent permitted by law, Khawoji isn't liable for issues arising from food quality, allergic reactions, or delivery delays caused by a vendor or third-party delivery arrangement. If something goes wrong, tell us — we want to know, and we'll help mediate with the vendor where we can.
10. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, engages in fraud, or repeatedly fails to fulfill confirmed orders. You can stop using Khawoji at any time; contact privacy@khawoji.com if you'd like your account and associated data removed.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the platform evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Khawoji after a change means you accept the updated terms.
